Gaia Ree’my was born to a musical family in 2002 in Kfar Shmuel, Israel.
Her father, Eran, is a trumpet player at the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra , a conductor and a senior teacher at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, and her mother, Anat, graduate of the Tel Aviv music academy in piano major is a music therapist.
Gaia began playing the piano at the age of 6 and proceeded with French horn at age 10.
She studied with Yuri Gorelin, Alon Re’uven and Chezy nir. She is about to begin her academic studies with Yoel Abadi at the Buchmann-Mehta school of music in Tel Aviv,
Gaia is a Graduate of Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts. She graduated with honors the classical music department, and the regular studies also. She played at the “Thelma-Yellin” symphony orchestra conducted by Guy Feder. In 2018-2020 she was the principal horn player of this orchestra.
In 2017-2020 she took part at the Jerusalem Music Centre’s programs for outstanding young musicians. This includes being a part of the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the David Goldman chamber music program.
In 2018 Gaia won the 1st prize at the Kfar Saba national brass and wind competition (brass) in the age category 14-16.
In 2018 and 2019 Gaia preformed in professional ensembles as Raanana Symphonette Orchestra and Tel-Aviv woodwind quintet. In 2020 she played in a special audition in order to play solo with the IPO. Thanks to her impressive playing at the audition, Gaia has gotten a special option to play as part of the IPO in a special concert. Because of the Corona crisis, the concert was cancelled.
Gaia was part of the special national program for outstanding young musicians of the Ministry of Education.
She is a regular participant in the “Horn Days” of the Israel Philharmonic. She has participated in a master classes with William VerMeulen (Houston Symphony Orchestra), Edward Deskur (Zurich Opera House), Ernesto Tovar Torres (The Philadelphia Orchestra), Itamar Leshem (Tel-Aviv Wind Quintet), Yoel Abadi (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra) and Michael Slatkin (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra).
She worked with many professional musicians as Avichai Or-Noy, Menachem Wiesenberg, Zvi Carmeli, Hillel Zori, Alexander Pavlovsky, Mark Glienson, Gershon Gerchikov, Felix Nemirovsky, Eran Levi, Dudu Carmel, Daniel Mazaki, Alon Bor, Yossi Arnheim, Tibi Cziger, Itamar Leshem, Eran Reemy, Micha Davis, Ruty Varon, Guy Feder, Edmund Cord, Haim Avitsur, Richard Paley, Dale Lonis and Socrates Villegas.
As part of her Orchestra playing, she played under the baton of Lahav Shani, Pierre-André Valade, Krzysztof Chorzelski, Yi-An Shu, Eyal Ein-Habar, Eran Reemy, Guy feder, Alberto Roque, Yishai Steckler and more…
Gaia is a recipient of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship for 2017/18, 2018/19. She also received a scholarship from the Ronen Foundation.

אביה, ערן הוא נגן חצוצרה בתזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית ומלמד באקדמיה למוסיקה בירושלים ובביה"ס למוסיקה ע"ש בוכמן-מהטה. אמה, ענת, היא בוגרת האקדמיה למוסיקה בתל אביב ומטפלת במוסיקה במקצועה.
גאיה החלה בנגינת פסנתר בכיתה א' ובנגינת קרן יער בכיתה ה'.
למדה אצל חזי ניר, אלון ראובן ויורי גורלין. בשנה"ל 2020-2021 תתחיל ללמוד בביה"ס למוסיקה ע"ש בוכמן מהטה באוניברסיטת תל אביב אצל יואל עבאדי.
בוגרת התיכון הארצי לאמנויות ע"ש תלמה-ילין בהצטיינות במגמת המוסיקה הקלאסית, וכמו כן בהצטיינות לימודית.
ניגנה בתזמורת הסימפונית של התיכון הארצי לאמנויות ע"ש תלמה ילין בניצוחו של גיא פדר. בשנתיים האחרונות שלה בבית הספר היתה נגנית הקרן הראשונה בתזמורת.
בין השנים 2017-2020 לקחה חלק בתכניות המצטיינים של המרכז למוסיקה ירושלים; הן בתכנית לנגנים מצטיינים ע"ש דיוויד גולדמן והן בתזמורת הפילהרמונית הצעירה.
בפברואר 2018 זכתה במקום הראשון בתחרות כפר סבא הארצית לכלי נשיפה בקטגוריית כלי המתכת לגילאי 14-16.
בשנה"ל 2019-2020 לקחה חלק בתכנית הארצית המיוחדת למוסיקאים צעירים מחוננים ומצטיינים של משרד החינוך.
משתתפת קבועה בימי הקרן של תוכנית מפתח של התזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית. השתתפה בכיתות אמן עם: ויליאם ורמיולן (התזמורת הסימפונית של יוסטון), אדוארד דסקור (האופרה של ציריך), ארנסטו טובאר-טורס (תזמורת פילדלפיה), יואל עבאדי (הפילהרמונית הישראלית) מייקל סלטקין (הפילהרמונית הישראלית), ואיתמר לשם (חמישיית תל-אביב).
הופיעה בהרכבים מקצועיים: תזמורת סימפונט רעננה וחמישיית תל-אביב. בשנת 2020 השתתפה באודיציה לנגינת סולו עם התזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית. הודות לנגינתה המרשימה בבחינה, קיבלה גאיה הזדמנות חד פעמית לנגן בתזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית בקונצרט מיוחד. משבר הקורונה גרם לביטול הקונצרט ולכן הדבר לא התקיים.
עבדה עם מוסיקאים מקצועיים, בהם אביחי אור-נוי, מנחם ויזנברג, צבי כרמלי, הלל צורי, אלכסנדר (סשה) פבלובסקי, גרשון גרשיקוב, ערן לוי, דודו כרמל, דניאל מזעקי, אלון בור, יוסי ארנהיים, טיבי צייגר, מארק גלינסון, פליקס נמירובסקי, איתמר לשם, מיכה דיוויס, ערן ראמי, רותי ורון, דן ורון, גיא פדר, אדמונד קורד, ריצ'ארד פלאי, חיים אביצור, דייל לוניס וסוקרטס וילגאס.
במסגרת נגינתה בתזמורות, ניגנה תחת ניצוחם של להב שני, איאן שו, קז'ישטוף קוז'לסקי, פייר אנדרה וולד, אלברטו רוק, גיא פדר, ערן ראמי, ישי שטקלר ועוד...
מלגאית קרן התרבות אמריקה-ישראל לשנים 2017/18, 2018/19. קיבלה מלגה מטעם קרן רונן.
הקשר עם "קרן רונן" | "My relationship to "Ronen Foundation
My relationship with "Ronen Foundation" began when I was 16 years old. I played with Bar Zemach and Omer Sapir trio of horns, at the annual fundraising concert. Half a year later, I have received a scholarship from the "Ronen Foundation" within the special connection between my high-school: "Thelma Yellin" and the "Ronen Foundation". Since then, I'm in continuous contact with Yaffa, inviting her to my recitals and concerts, feeling free to talk with her about anything happening in my musical world and in general, I am feeling blessed for the fact that Yaffa is always there for me whenever I want and need, and that the Ronen Foundation is a warm loving home which is always there to support and help me. I am so happy about my relationship with the foundation and feeling so thankful about everything
הקשר שלי עם קרן רונן התחיל כשלמדתי בתיכון הארצי לאמנויות ע"ש תלמה ילין, במגמת המוסיקה הקלאסית. כשלמדתי בכיתה י', מירי זמיר, שהייתה ראש מגמת המוסיקה קלאסית בתיכון תלמה ילין למשך שנים רבות, וגם כשהייתי בכיתה ט', פנתה אליי והציעה לי לנגן עיבוד שכתבה לפנפרה (תרועה) מהיצירה "מוסיקה על פני המים" של הנדל, בקונצרט ההתרמה השנתי של "קרן רונן" יחד עם בר צמח ועומר ספיר. כמובן שנעניתי בחיוב ושמחתי על ההזדמנות להשתתף בקונצרט המרגש. לאחר מכן, הקשר המשיך כשלמדתי בכיתה יא'. פניתי ליפה במייל בבקשה לתמיכה בלימודי הנגינה שלי, שעלותם, יחד עם כל הפעילויות המוסיקליות של המרכז למוסיקה ירושלים ותיכון "תלמה ילין" גבוהה מאוד. יפה המקסימה שמחה לעזור, ולבסוף קיבלתי מלגה מטעם הקרן במסגרת לימודי ב"תלמה ילין", כמו תלמידים רבים שקיבלו אותה. מאז, אני שומרת על קשר עם יפה באופן קבוע; מזמינה את יפה לקונצרטים ורסיטלים, מעדכנת אותה באופן שוטף במתרחש בדברים העוברים עליי בעולם המוסיקה ובאופן כללי: מרגישה שיפה תמיד שם בשבילי, ושקרן רונן היא בית חם ואהוב שתמיד נמצא שם כדי לתמוך ולעזור. אני מברכת על הקשר עם הקרן ומודה על ההזדמנות שנפלה בחיקי!
