Tal First began his violin studies in Israel with Geri Ferber at the age of 6. He continued his studies with Svetlana Simannovsky at the Thelma-Yellin School of Arts and later on at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, while serving as an Outstanding Musician in the IDF. Tal received his Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, where he is currently pursuing his Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman. As a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, conducted my Daniel Barenboim, he performed in festivals and venues such as the BBC Proms, Berlin Philharmonie, Lucerne Festival, Paris Philharmonie, and Salzburg Festival. As part of his love for the art of teaching, Tal serves as a Teaching Fellow in Juilliard’s ear training department since 2018, while also teaching violin privately. As a solo and chamber music performer, he regularly plays concerts as part of the Musethica program, Concerts in Motion, and in other venues around the world. An alumnus of the David Goldman Program and Miriam Fried’s classes in the Jerusalem Music Center, Keshet Eilon, Perlman Music Program, and Polyphony, Tal has also taken part in masterclass with violinists including Ivry Gitlis, Leonidas Kavakos, Julian Rachlin, and Christian Tetzlaff. As a soloist, Tal played with the Galilee Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand’s Sinfonia for Hope, and the Thelma-Yellin Symphony Orchestra. Tal is being supported by the America-Israel Cultural foundation since 2011, and by the Ronen Foundation since 2016.
